What Would Happen If My Ideas From Anomaly Were True? – Part 1

Standard

I’ve had many people ask me about some of my ideas pertaining to possible future science theories, and I’ve covered some of my thoughts in an earlier blog. However I’ve been writing and working on my second and third books and I felt like now would be a good time for me to throw out some more suggestions. Before I go further, I want to say this straight away, my novels and the stories within are fiction but some of the science based concepts have come from a mixture of my imagination and actual factual science. I hold a science degree but not a physics degree and my maths I regret to say I left behind at the end of my GCSE’s.

If you haven’t read my book or want some extra information then I recommend that you read these two blogs first before continuing.

In my blog ‘My Thoughts & Ideas Behind Anomaly’ I mention that physicists would probably have to discover a new layer of particle physics. This new layer would lend to and explain the ‘Creative Field’. (I’ll borrow one of my previous diagrams to explain)

Nowtime slice through nowtime

In order to discover this new layer of particle physics, current experiments would require a lot more energy. Potential discoveries with the Large Hadron Collider at CERN using high energy collisions might bring about the capabilities to make the accelerators even faster, and enable us to explore more high energy collisions. In order for this to happen the ‘Nowtime’ idea that there would be a new dimension of time will need to be explored and turned into an actual hypothesis. However, any change in the science world is likely to be gradual and the application of any discoveries will likely be a race between different groups of scientists.

Quantum mechanics and relativity are not compatible, one is based on the probability of an event happening, anywhere and at any time. The other is based on relativity, so there is always a fixed point to make an observation from. However, since we are always technically in motion, the binary nature of the quantum field can’t always be observed because no point in space is actually fixed. Both quantum mechanics and relativity work, but the ‘thing’ that binds them could potentially be ‘Nowtime’ and that creates a field. This would mean that ‘Nowtime’ and the ‘Creative Field’ links the two, but it has not yet been hypothesised in the right way yet. This is because there is no way of mathematically linking the two because the maths as we know it breaks down. In order for this to work a really clever person would need to make a new maths model. It would still have the basics of calculus but each symbol would have it’s own formula as such.

If all of this were true and discovered in the next two hundred years there is the potential for time travel into the future, tapping into ‘dark energy’ for our energy needs, real space travel outside of the solar system and eventually the galaxy, and sending the mind of an artificial intelligence into space. The problem is, there will be many ethical issues too.

Sending the mind of a computer into space would start on a small scale first. Theoretically you would be able to show a computer a coloured card in thirty seconds and the computer would move forwards, ‘stop time’, see themselves and the card, and then come back and communicate the colour of the card before being properly shown. All it would need initially is the ability to do this for a few seconds for its potential to be realised. It would take vast amounts of energy to do this, but there is a lot of energy that can be gained from the universe itself.

Of course this is all wishful thinking and theoretical under today’s technology, but it could be possible on the quantum scale. If you can make a particle predict another particle it will use less energy. A quantum computer might be able to predict the spin of another particle or predict some superposition, but theoretically leading up to that with the prediction of a colour. If this can be done on the small scale using the sorts of energies that we can do, then the basis of the idea/theory should hold enough ground for further exploration. If it is possible to get enough energy to look into a few nanoseconds into the future then it’s a starting point to expand further. We can find colossal short bursts of energy, and this might be enough.

  1. In discussions I’ve had since reading Anomaly, I don’t think there needs to be a new model of maths as such – more that we need a mathematical definition of “Nowtime” and the “Creative Field” in order to base new formulae on to make projections and new theories. This idea keeps popping up in conversations lately. When the LHC completes its next upgrade we might see progress in this thinking.

    • Interesting! Yes I think you’re right there about the maths. I should have written new model of physics as opposed to maths, with within that a new mathematical definition of ‘Nowtime’ and the ‘Creative Field.’ Can’t wait for the LHC to complete its next upgrade, it would be funny if certain modes of thinking actually start happening.
